Chivas USA players to participate in 'Lift Up America' campaign

CARSON, Calif. (Monday December 5, 2005) - Chivas USA players Francisco Gómez, Rodrigo López, Martin Zúñíga and Antonio Martínez will participate in a donation event to benefit those less fortunate in the Los Angeles area, who will receive gifts of food, sight and hope this holiday season thanks to the generosity of several major corporations as well as players from the Los Angeles Kings and Club Deportivo Chivas USA. The athletes will be on hand to assist with distributions.

Organized by ‘Lift Up America', a donation event distributing free products from Tyson Foods, LensCrafters, Pearle Vision and Ty, is planned for Tuesday, Dec. 6 at 11 a.m. outside the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum in Lot 4 at the corner of Martin Luther King and Hoover Ave.

This is one of 25 events planned to help thousands of families around the country. In addition to NFL, NBA, MLS and NHL teams, numerous college teams also participate in the effort.
