
Lookouts Sweep Doubleheader

The Chattanooga Lookouts swept today's doubleheader, winning the first game 3-2 and the second game 10-5.
Carson Spiers was lights out in the first game, throwing five no-hit innings. Spiers surrendered his first run in the sixth but finished the game by striking out six batters in 6.2 innings. Over the last two months, the right-hander is 3-0 and has only allowed seven runs in 32.2 innings.
Chattanooga's offense staked Spiers to an early 2-0 lead on a Rece Hinds RBI double and a sacrifice fly. Austin Callahan hit a ground-rule double and came around later in the inning on a grounder to make it 3-0 Lookouts in the fourth.
Pedro Garcia entered the game with two outs in the seventh and recorded an out to earn his sixth save.
In game two the Lookouts offense got off to a slow start but exploded for four runs in the fourth and four in the fifth. Jose Torres led the way on offense with two hits, two RBIs, and three runs.
Starting pitcher Teddy Stankiewicz and Jake Wong combined to only allow one earned run in six innings.
Tomorrow, the team will aim to bring their win streak to four with Thomas Farr on the mound.
