Chattanooga Lookouts News Release
Chattanooga has finally ended their dreaded four game losing streak as the bats came alive, besting the Smokies 10-1.
Righty Ryan Lillie made his Double-A debut and he didn't disappoint netting his first win. Lillie held down the fort for the Lookouts as he went five and two-thirds innings deep, allowing an unearned run, on four hits, while fanning four.
3B Gavin LaValley had the key hit in the bottom of the third, slapping a double down the left field line scoring both Nay and Isabel to give the Lookouts the lead 3-1.
Once Chattanooga obtained the lead, there was no looking back as they piled four more runs in the sixth thanks to a throwing error, wild pitch, and a Michael Beltre RBI single to make it 7-1.
Then in the eighth, the Lookouts collected three more runs as Alfredo Rodriguez added an RBI single, along with Jose Siri launching his fifth dinger of the year to take the lead 10-1.
RHP Ryan Nutof shut the door in the ninth inning, allowing a hit, while striking out one.
The Lookouts are back at the diamond tomorrow for the final home game of the series as southpaw Scott Moss (4-3, 3.45 ERA) gets the ball vs. RHP Cory Abbott (5-3, 3.39 ERA) of the Smokies with first pitch at 7:15 PM.
