Lookouts Offense Not Enough in 9-8 Defeat

June 26, 2019 - Southern League (SL1)
Chattanooga Lookouts News Release

Chattanooga has dropped their third game in a row, as the Smokies take the contest 9-8.

The Lookouts late-inning rally was fully intact again today, as Tyler Stephenson pulled the Lookouts within a run in the ninth as he blasted a solo homer. It still wasn't enough as Tennessee pulls through shutting the door in the ninth inning.

The Chattanooga offense were down but always a found a way to keep it close, as Ibandel Isabel blasted his Southern League leading 18th home run of the year to get the Lookouts on the board first. Isabel has been red-hot at the plate as that was his fourth dinger in the last six games.

Stephenson was the one who had the big day at the plate as he went 3 for 4 with a double, a homer, three RBI, along with a pair of runs scored.

Southpaw Packy Naughton had his shortest outing of the year going four and two thirds innings deep, giving up seven earned runs on nine hits.

Mitch Nay added collected his 23rd RBI in June as he went two for three with a pair of runs scored.

The Lookouts are back in action tomorrow as LHP Reiver Sanmartin (0-0, 9.00 ERA) makes his second start of the year against RHP Alex Lange (0-0, 3.00 ERA) with a 7:15 first pitch.
