Lookouts Lose on Late Surge

Chattanooga Lookouts News Release

The Braves keep from making errors and the Lookouts late surge falls short in the 5-3 loss in Mississippi. The Braves score a run in each of the first two innings. Right hander Chris Ellis would win the battle of former SEC pitching as he held the Lookouts to three hits and one run. DJ Baxendale would only give up the two early runs but still take the loss. Trailing 5-1 in the eighth inning Stu Turner would blast a two run hommer into the left field bullpen to cut the lead to two. It would not be enough as the Lookouts were retired in order in the ninth. Tuesday night the Lookouts go with lefty David Hurlbut (1-0/4.00) while the Braves counter with lefty San Newcomb (0-0/1.80). Hear all the games on 96.1 "The Legend" with pre-game at 7:45 EDT.
