SEVIERVILLE - Members of the Tennessee Smokies front office will be teaming up with U.S. Cellular and other partners to help clean up and renovate the American Legion Post 13 field in Maryville, Tenn. on Friday, May 13 from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. Volunteers from U.S. Cellular will be pitching in at the location, working side-by-side with Smokies front office members on all tasks. In addition, U.S. Cellular will also be donating $1,000 dollars to the project for equipment upgrades.

"We are grateful that the Tennessee Smokies and U.S. Cellular chose our field this year," said Post 13 Chairman Jeremy Keough.  "The American Legion Post 13 field in Maryville serves as a great resource for the community and the improvements will be welcomed by many."

"U.S. Cellular is proud to partner with the Smokies again this year to roll up our sleeves and help with the baseball field makeover at the American Legion Post 13 field," said Nathan Waddell, Director of Sales for U.S. Cellular in Tennessee. "We're committed to the communities where our associates live, work and play. This makeover is another opportunity for us to give back to the residents of Blount County."

Both organizations will improve the overall mark up of the American Legion Post 13 field. In addition, both the Smokies and U.S. Cellular will provide tools and resources to help maintain the park for years to come.

The Smokies are currently in the midst of a five-game homestand, with the third game of their series against the Montgomery Biscuits set for 7:05 p.m. this evening at Smokies Stadium. Tennessee is expected to give the nod to RHP Brad Markey (0-0, 1.80), while the Rays's Double-A affiliate is slated to send RHP Taylor Guerrieri (1-0, 1.80) to the hill.

It will be the first $2 Tuesday of the season at the ballpark. Fans will be able to purchase soft serve ice cream, large popcorn, nachos with cheese, hot dogs, draft beers and Pepsi products for as low as two dollars.

Single-game tickets, as well as multi-voucher and season ticket packages are still available, and can be purchased online at smokiesbaseball.com, or by calling the Smokies Ticket Office at 865-286-2300.
