Chattanooga Lookouts News Release
For the final homestand of 2013, the Chattanooga Lookouts have reverted to their feeble offensive ways.
The Tennessee Smokies, tuning up for their postseason, shut the Lookouts out 5-0 on one measly hit Thursday night at AT&T. The teams wrap up the regular season with the next four games, including Friday night at 7:15.
Lookouts starter Ross Stripling (6-4) pitched plenty well to win, allowing two runs on five hits over seven innings. But his teammates were held to a single hit -- a single by Jeremy Moore leading off the fourth inning. Moore was promptly doubled up on a ground ball DP.
The win went to Smokies reliever P.J. Francesco, as starter Neil Ramirez (just acquired as the Cubs' player to be named in the Matt Garza trade) failed to make it through five innings despite allowing only the one hit. Yeiper Castillo earned his first save of 2013, working the final three innings in hitless form.
As for the Lookouts' bullpen, Michael Thomas allowed three runs, all earned, in his inning of work while Yimi Garcia worked one shutout inning, striking out the side.
Garrett Gould (2-4) is scheduled to start tonight against the Smokies' right-hander Eduardo Figueroa (1-2).
