JACKSONVILLE - The Miami Marlins announced a series of transactions that impacts their Double-A affiliate Jacksonville Suns roster prior to tonight's series opening contest with the Mississippi Braves at Bragan Field.

Right-hander Matt Neil has been transferred to Triple-A New Orleans from Jacksonville. In his 15 appearances (ten starts) with the Suns this year, the 26-year-old has accumulated a 2-2 record and 3.05 ERA (20 ER in 59.0 IP). In nine games (seven starts) for the Zephyrs this year, Neil has recorded a 2-3 mark and 5.08 ERA (25 ER in 44.1 IP).

In a corresponding move, right-handed reliever Nick Wittgren has been transferred to Jacksonville from High-A Jupiter. In 48 relief outings for the Hammerheads this year, the 22-year-old has posted a 2-1 record and 0.83 ERA (5 ER in 54.1 IP), adding 25 saves in 29 opportunities. At the time of his promotion, his 25 saves led the Florida State League. Earlier this week, Wittgren was invited to represent the Marlins organization in the Arizona Fall League following the 2013 regular season.

The Suns roster stands at 25, and a revised roster is attached.

Jacksonville begins their final five-game series of the season tonight at Bragan Field against the Mississippi Braves, the Double-A affiliate of the Mississippi Braves. Left-hander and top Marlins pitching prospect Andrew Heaney is set to take the hill for the Suns, with first pitch set for 7:05 p.m. in Jacksonville.
