
Lookouts fall to Braves, 4-3

The Lookouts lose a heartbreaker to the Mississippi Braves, 4-3. After taking the lead in the eighth inning, the Braves scored twice in the ninth to ice the victory.
The Braves got on the board first with a run in the fourth after Barbaro Canizaras singled and then scored on a double by Matt Esquivel. The Lookouts came right back in the bottom of the inning to tie the game at one. Chris Dickerson doubled to left to lead the inning off. After a walk to Noochie Varner, Javier Colina singled through the hole at shortstop, scoring Dickerson. The Braves took the lead back in the seventh. Gregor Blanco led the inning off with a triple and scored on a single by Josh Arteaga. Once again, the Lookouts came back in the bottom of the inning to tie the game at two. With one out, Javon Moran tripled and then scored on a sacrifice fly by Chris Dickerson. Chattanooga scored another run in the eighth to take the lead, 3-2. Noochie Varner doubled to lead the inning off and then scored on a single by Javier Colina. The Braves, however, did not have any quit in their bats, as they came storming back in the ninth with two runs to seal the win.
Lookouts reliever Jon Coutlangus suffered the loss after he gave up two runs in the ninth inning; his record now stands at 1-2. Jose Ascanio picked up his first win with the Braves. Zach Schreiber recorded his second save of the season.
The Lookouts and Braves will do battle again tomorrow night. First pitch is at 7:15 and gates open at 5:30.
