(Lancaster, Pa.) - The Long Island Ducks were defeated by the Lancaster Barnstormers 4-0 on Saturday night in the middle game of a three-game series at Clipper Magazine Stadium.

Lancaster took a 2-0 lead in the second inning on a two-run home run to right field by Gift Ngoepe off Ducks starter Joe Iorio. A two-out RBI double down the left field line by Destin Hood in the third increased the advantage to three. Anderson De La Rosa singled in the fourth and later scored on a throwing error, upping the lead to 4-0.

That was more than enough for Barnstormers starter Nate Reed (2-2) to earn the win. The lefty tossed six and two-thirds scoreless innings, allowing one hit and one walk while striking out seven. Iorio (5-2) suffered the loss, surrendering four runs (three earned) on seven hits and a walk over five innings with six strikeouts. Ismael Cabrera threw two perfect innings of relief, striking out three, in his Ducks debut, and Clint Freeman struck out the side in a scoreless eighth.

The Ducks and Barnstormers wrap up their three-game set on Sunday afternoon. First pitch is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. from Clipper Magazine Stadium. Fans can follow all the action on the Long Island Ducks Broadcast Network. Live streaming video and audio will be available via BoxCast on LIDucks.com, Facebook Live and the Ducks official YouTube channel. Right-hander Brandon Beachy (0-0, 0.00) toes the rubber for the Ducks against Barnstormers southpaw Jared Lakind (5-4, 5.30).

Long Island returns home on Tuesday, August 13, to open a three-game series with the York Revolution. Game time is slated for 6:35 p.m., with the Bethpage Ballpark gates opening at 5:35 (5:20 for full season ticket holders). It's Irish Heritage Night at the ballpark, presented by Shandon Court! The Ducks will be wearing special Irish-themed jerseys, which will be auctioned off during the game. Fans can place bids on the game-worn jerseys by visiting the auction tables located outside the Waddle In Shop.
