
Long Island Nets Score 48 in the Fourth Quarter But Fall to Grand Rapids

LONG ISLAND - The Long Island Nets (10-18), the NBA G League affiliate of the Brooklyn Nets, fell to the Grand Rapids Drive (17-12) 135-117 tonight at NYCB LIVE, home of the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum.
Nets two-way guard Jeremiah Martin finished the game with a team-high 25 points on 10-of-15 shooting from the field and 3-of-3 shooting from the charity stripe while adding two assists and two steals in 27 minutes off the bench. Brooklyn Nets guard/forward Dzanan Musa, while on assignment with Long Island, finished the contest with 18 points on 6-of-11 shooting from the field and 3-of-3 shooting from the free-throw line in just 22 minutes of action.
Brooklyn Nets assignee Theo Pinson also added 11 points on 4-of-8 shooting from the field to go along with five rebounds, six assists and two blocks in 22 minutes of play.
Grand Rapids center Adam Woodbury led the way for the Drive, finishing the contest with a game-high 26 points on 9-of-15 shooting from the field and 4-of-4 shooting from the free-throw line to go with six rebounds in 23 minutes off the bench. Pistons two-way guard Jordan Bone also had a strong performance for the Drive, recording 19 points, four rebounds, seven assists and a steal in 32 minutes of action.
Both teams got off to a sluggish start, recording only 14 points between the two sides over the game's opening 5:03, with Long Island leading 8-6. Grand Rapids managed to pull off a late 9-0 run, giving the Drive momentum as they were able to close out the first up 30-20.
Grand Rapids carried their strong play over into the second quarter, expanding the lead to as many as 24 points. The Drive would go on to outscore the Nets 39-28 in the quarter, taking a commanding 69-48 lead into the half.
Grand Rapids came out on fire in the second half, outscoring the Nets 20-8 mid-way through the third and extending the lead to 33 points. The Drive's strong scoring continued as they would go into the final quarter of play leading 105-69.
Long Island came out in the fourth refusing to go down easy, outscoring the Drive 19-8 over the opening 4:28 of the fourth quarter. Despite scoring 48 points in the fourth, the deficit proved to be too much as the Nets fell to the Drive by the final score 135-117.
The Nets play their next game against the Capital City Go-Go on Wednesday, Jan. 29, at 11 a.m. ET at Barclays Center, while the Drive will close out its four-game road trip at the Raptors 905 on Wednesday, Jan. 29, at 11 a.m. ET.
