Stockton, Calif. - Today, the Stockton Kings - the NBA G League affiliate of the Sacramento Kings - and partner Kaiser Permanente announced their new program to promote health and wellness with youth through the "Stockton Kings Fit Kids" program.

The four-week program, presented by Kaiser Permanente, is designed for 3rd-5th grade students and will include a workbook with a daily activity related to a weekly topic. Topics include nutrition, hydration, movement and mindfulness. The activities are interactive and educational, created to teach young students' healthy habits to have a lasting positive impact on their lives. Each student will receive one workbook, and each class will have a calendar to track daily activities.

"We are thrilled to launch the Stockton Kings Fit Kids alongside Kaiser Permanente to help promote and encourage health and wellness among Stockton-area youth," said Stockton Kings Vice President of Business Operations Dustin Toms. "This program will give students the tools to make healthy and active lifestyle choices in a fun and rewarding way."

Six elementary schools across the Stockton Unified School District were selected to pilot the program, impacting more than 2,000 local students. The Stockton Kings will visit August, El Dorado, Fillmore, Hazelton, Spanos and Van Buren elementary schools for a kick-off assembly to launch the program and include appearances from Stockton Kings personalities and Kaiser Permanente professionals.

"We are excited to welcome this outstanding program into our schools," said Dr. John Deasy, Superintendent of Stockton Unified School District. "Stockton Unified is grateful to have strong 'Imagine Promise' community partners who work to support student achievement, school communities, and the district's mission of ensuring all students graduate college, career, and community ready."

"We hope this program will encourage young people to engage in a healthy and active lifestyle for years to come," said Corwin Harper, SVP and Area Manager, Kaiser Permanente Central Valley. "At Kaiser Permanente, partnering with organizations like the Stockton Kings, helps us to strengthen the physical, social, and emotional development of young people as we work to build healthier communities."

All participating students will receive tickets to the Stockton Kings game on Friday, March 20.
