CLINTON, IA - Scott Sizemore broke a seventh inning tie with a sacrifice fly and Brennan Boesch went 2-for-4 with a home run as the Whitecaps won for the sixth consecutive time at Clinton, 5-2. At 3 hours, 18 minutes, it was the longest nine inning game of the season played by West Michigan.

In the fourth, the LumberKings took advantage of an error on a ground ball to Sizemore, the second baseman and tallied a pair of unearned runs of Charlie Furbush. Chad Tracy delivered a ground out for an RBI and David Paisano singled home the tying run.
Jeramy Laster led off the seventh inning for the Whitecaps with a walk. He eventually scored on the sac fly by Sizemore to put the âCaps ahead for good, 3-2.
West Michigan added two runs in the ninth when Audy Ciriaco tripled to lead off then scored on a passed ball. Ryan Strieby drove in Sizemore with the final run of the game on a sacrifice fly.
Three different Clinton pitchers hit a Whitecaps batter. Designated hitter Joe Tucker was hit by a pitch twice. He also singled and scored on the Boesch home run in the third.
Strieby turned an unassisted double play on a line drive to first base that ended the third inning. The ball was hit by lead off man Jose Vallejo and Strieby tagged base runner Josh Bradbury, who began the play with a lead off first base.
Furbush pitched 5.2 innings as the starter, Casey tossed 2.1 innings of shutout relief to earn the save and Iowa native Brett Jensen struck out the side in order in the ninth to earn his 21st save.
