BOWIE, Md. - Fabricio Macias rocked a two-run homer in the second inning, but Bowie's offense combined for four home runs for the second straight game in a 12-3 win over Altoona on Wednesday night at Prince George's Stadium.

Altoona grabbed the first runs of the ballgame when Blake Sabol doubled to start the second inning and Macias followed him with a two-run blast. Macias' first home run with the Curve marked the 14th game that he has picked up at least one hit in his 16 appearances with the Curve.

Right-hander Aaron Shortridge was charged with the loss on Wednesday night, surrendering eight runs, seven earned, across three innings. After Altoona took the 2-0 lead, Bowie rallied for three runs in the bottom half of the inning led by a two-run homer from Shayne Fontana and a sac fly from J.D. Mundy. The Baysox knocked Shortridge from the game with a five-run fourth inning that broke the game open, Colten Cowser knocked a grand slam to take an 8-2 advantage.

Bowie added a solo homer from Joey Ortiz in the seventh inning and a two-run shot from Connor Norby in the eighth to round out the scoring. Ortiz has picked up five extra base hits in the first two games of the series.

Matt Fraizer added an RBI single in the seventh inning as Altoona attempted to mount a rally against the Baysox bullpen, however, Connor Scott lined into an inning-ending double play to first base with the bases loaded to end the threat. Bowie added four runs across the seventh and eighth inning to secure the game.

Jeff Passantino struck out a season-high six batters across 3.1 innings of relief following Shortridge. Colin Selby added three strikeouts in 1.1 innings of relief after him and Nick Dombkowski struck out the only batter he faced in the game. Curve pitching combined for 11 strikeouts on Wednesday night.
