Chesapeake Baysox News Release

Bowie, Md: This week at the Bowie Baysox (Double-A Affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles) features an incredible weekend of fun and exciting events plus the opportunity to see the FIRST PLACE Bowie Baysox take on the Altoona Curve (Double-A Affiliate of the Pittsburgh Pirates) at Prince George's Stadium in Bowie, MD.

Here's a look at what's On Deck at the Baysox this weekend:

Friday, July 29 @ 7:05 pm: Navy Night & Fireworks presented by Navy Federal Credit Union

An annual tradition at the Baysox, the United States Naval Academy Plebe Summer Class of 2026 will make the trip from Annapolis to Bowie for Navy Night at the Baysox. This event features the entire USNA Class of 2026 dressed in their white uniforms for the first time in public, taking in a Baysox game and post-game patriotic Fireworks spectacular.

Pre-Game Ceremonies feature the United States Naval Academy Band performing in front of the stadium from 5:45 pm - 6:15 pm along with performing the National Anthem, the USNA Plebe Summer Color Guard presenting the Colors, members of the USNA Class of 2026 taking the field with the Baysox Starting Lineup and the ever popular in-game Plebe Push Up Contest.

After the Fireworks, all kids ages 12 and under can Run the Bases on the field, presented by Mosquito Shield.

Saturday, July 30 @ 6:35 pm: Island Luau Night & Fireworks presented by Royal Farms

The Baysox will bring the islands to the ballpark with the musicians and dancers from the Halau O 'Aulani dance school of Arlington, VA. The night will feature live island music and Hula dancing performances along with live music during a Hawaiian inspired post-game Fireworks spectacular.

After the Fireworks, all kids ages 12 and under can Run the Bases on the field, presented by Mosquito Shield.

Sunday, July 31 @ 1:05 pm: Heroes Day, First Responders Free Tickets, Grayson Rodriguez Bobble Head Giveaway, Guns vs. Hoses Softball Game

This Sunday at the Baysox is jam packed with something for everyone! The Baysox will honor our region's First Responders throughout the game and are offering First Responders the opportunity to get two (2) Free Tickets to the game when they show their valid ID or Badge at the Baysox Ticket Office this Sunday.

The day also features opportunities to see and interact with police, fire and emergency vehicles from area departments plus some vintage equipment and more. Officials from the USDOJ, FBI, DEA, Secret Service and the US Marshalls offices will also be on hand to interact and provide safety tips, kids ID's and more throughout the event.

Fans attending Heroes Day will also be able to meet and take photos with some of their favorite Costumed Hero Characters and are encouraged to come dressed as their favorites too.

The first 750 fans (ages 13 & up) entering the main stadium gates will receive a Grayson "Super" Rodriguez Bobble head collectible. Rodriguez, the former Bowie Baysox pitcher (2021), is currently ranked as the #3 overall prospect in baseball (MLB Pipeline) and the #1 overall prospect in the Orioles system. This bobble head will depict Rodriguez with a famous "S" across his chest (see attached photo).

During the game, the Baysox will wear special designed "First Responder" jerseys that will be auctioned off via the Live Source app (download on Apple and Android platforms) or online with a portion of the auction proceeds benefiting the Children's Cancer Foundation of Columbia, MD.

After the Baysox game, fans are invited to stick around for the annual "Guns vs. Hoses" Softball Game - this year featuring the Anne Arundel County Fire Department taking on the Maryland State Police.

Tickets: Tickets for all Bowie Baysox home games can be purchased online at Baysox.com or by calling the Baysox Ticket Office at 301-464-4865 between 10 am - 3 pm (Monday through Saturday). Tickets can also be purchased in person at the Baysox Ticket Office at Prince George's Stadium.
