GREEN BAY, WI - The La Crosse Loggers bid for a NWL-record 50 wins was interrupted on Sunday afternoon when the host Bullfrogs topped the visiting Loggers 12-3 at Joannes Park in Green Bay, Wisc.

After La Crosse posted two runs in the top of the first, the Frogs scored early and often off of La Crosse starter Steven Pallares (SDSU), touching him for eight runs in the bottom of the first inning and knocking the right-hander out of the game after 1/3 of an inning.

Kevin Johnson (UWL) would then toss the next 5.2 innings for La Crosse as Green Bay would score four more times to run their lead to 12-2 before the Loggers would add one in the ninth. Green Bay would total 14 hits and eight walks on the afternoon.

Offensively the Loggers produced three runs on eight hits. Austin Bailey (San Diego) and Tyler Kuresa (UC-Santa Barbara) led the way with two hits apiece.

The loss dropped the Loggers to 23-12 in the second half and they finished the 2012 regular season with a 49-21 record, the second best overall record in league history.

The 2012 NWL South Division Playoffs start on Monday in Wausau, Wisc. as the Loggers travel to Athletic Park for Game #1 to take on the Woodchucks. Game time is set for 6:35. Air time on the Logger Radio Network will be 6:00 p.m.
