Toledo Walleye News Release

(Toledo, OH) - The Toledo Walleye are pleased to announce that they are committed to promoting hockey within the community. The team has established a special program for youth and high school hockey teams to play at the new Huntington Center while helping raise money for their hockey teams.

The Toledo Walleye ticket fundraiser program provides local teams with FREE ice time at the Huntington Center as an incentive for selling a minimum amount of Toledo Walleye ticket vouchers.

The Walleye will provide ticket vouchers to the organization on consignment for $10.00 per ticket. The teams can then sell those tickets at face value ($15.00) and keep the additional $5.00 to put towards their organization. The ticket vouchers are good for any Walleye home game during the 2010-11 regular season. The Walleye anticipate the program will raise over $15,000 for local youth and high school hockey.

Walleye Manager of Special Events Michael Keedy said, "The Toledo Walleye ticket fundraiser is first and foremost a great opportunity to raise money for local hockey programs. In addition to the fundraising potential, if teams sell a certain amount of ticket vouchers they receive free ice time at the Huntington Center. It is a win-win situation for all parties and we are thrilled that the program is doing so well in just the second year."

There are currently 22 youth teams and 14 high school teams participating in the program. There is still limited ice time available if local teams would like to participate in this fundraiser and play at the Huntington Center in downtown Toledo.
