Pascal Morency Assigned to Bakersfield

Bakersfield, Calif. - The Bakersfield Condors, host of the 2010-11 ECHL All-Star Classic and ECHL affiliate of the Minnesota Wild, announced today that RW Pascal Morency has been assigned to the club from the Houston Aeros of the American Hockey League.

Morency, 28, is entering his 8th professional season, all of which have been spent in North America. Morency played the last threeseasons exclusively with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers of the American Hockey League, where he picked up up 4 goals, 4 assists, and 416 minutes in the penalty box in 105 games. From 2004-2006, Morency skated with the Wheeling Nailers where he recorded 326 PIM in 70 games. The Montreal, Quebec, native began his pro career in 2003-04 with the Flint Generals of the UHL, where he notched 8 goals and 6 assists and recorded 248 PIMs in 51 games. In his professional career, Morency has 31 goals and 35 assists to go along with 1,198 PIM in 296 games.

Morency played four seasons in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League before turning pro. In 2001-02 with the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles, his 596 PIM led the league by 164 minutes. He also collected 33 points during that season. He played in 210 career games in the QMJHL, racking up 1,124 PIM during that time.

The Condors have also released F Karl Gagne. Gagne appeared in one game with the Condors recording two shots on goal.
