Amarillo Gorillas News Release
Amarillo, TX 12/10/09 - The Amarillo Gorillas will welcome a special 8-year-old Panhandle "America's Got Talent" star Eleisha Miller to sing the national anthem this Saturday night.
"We're fortunate Eleisha will share her gifted voice with the people of the Panhandle," commented Gorillas General Manager Robert Simmons. "Not only will fans experience a quality hockey game Saturday night, but they'll also have the opportunity to witness a talented, young entertainer as well."
Fans may recall Miller when she appeared this past fall on the NBC television show "America's Got Talent". For video clips on Miller, visit http://eleishamiller.com.
Eleisha Miller is a vibrant, energetic 8 year-old girl from Amarillo, Texas. Originally born in San Antonio, she considers herself a Texan through and through. From an early age (1 year) Eleisha has been singing and making up songs. By age 4 (2004), she started playing the piano and taking Suzuki piano lessons. By age 6 (2006), she started sight reading music and has progressed quickly, learning piano theory, timing, and personal discipline in practice.
The Gorillas continue their longest home stand of the season Friday night, December 11th versus the Colorado Eagles. The first 250 fans through the gates will receive a free mini goalie stick! Come early (doors open at 6pm) and enjoy the show. Call 806.242.PUCK.
Fans who donate a toy at December home games 11th, 12th, 13th, & 19th will have the opportunity to purchase a $10 game ticket valid for the same game night. Present your toy at the Amarillo Civic Center box office or the Gorillas office on the day of the game.
On Saturday, December 12th, the Gorillas are asking fans to bring in teddy bears or other stuffed animals to throw onto the ice after Amarillo's first goal of the game. All stuffed animals being thrown during the annual "Teddy Bear Toss" will be donated to Toys for Tots. Also Saturday, the Gorillas will be giving away 1,000 rally towels.
