LAREDO, TX- The Laredo Bucks of the Central Hockey League look to win their 300th game in franchise history Friday night when they host the Missouri Mavericks at the Laredo Entertainment Center. All-time series (Regular season): First ever meeting
The Bucks play their last home game until December 26th Friday night, as they look to continue their recent roll. Since November 4th the Bucks are 9-2-2, including 5-1-1 since Thanksgiving. The Bucks have won four straight home games, and two straight games overall.
The Bucks enter Friday's game with 299 franchise victories, with an all-time regular season record of 299-125-40.
Laredo won their fourth-straight home game Tuesday night when they beat Corpus Christi 4-3 in a shootout. Maxime Lincourt scored two-goals, and Darryl Smith picked up the game-winning goal in the shootout. Lincourt leads the Bucks in goals with nine, and power-play goals with five. 10 of the Bucks last 15 games have been decided by one goal. Overall this season the Bucks are 6-1-4 in one-goal contests.
The Bucks have not allowed a power-play goal in their last three games, killing off all 17 penalties against them in that span. Going back to their last four games the Bucks have killed off the last 22 penalties against them. The Bucks allowed one power-play goal on December 2nd before killing off the last five in their 4-3 win that night.
Missouri enters Friday's game three points out of fifth-place in their first CHL season with an 8-11-1 mark. The Mavericks are 6-0 against Wichita and 2-11-1 against the rest of the league.
The Mavericks are in the midst of a two-game losing streak, including a 9-2 home loss Tuesday night to Rapid City.
Missouri is led in scoring by 2006-07 CHL MVP Jeff Christian, who has 25 points (8-1725).
The Bucks start a season-high four-game road trip Saturday night in Allen. Game time is 7:30pm.
**BUCKS TO DELIVER TOYS DEC. 14TH**
The Bucks, in conjunction with Doctors Hospital, collected 157 toys for their annual toy drive at Saturday's (Dec 5th) game at the Laredo Entertainment Center.
Bucks players and front office staff members will deliver the toys to the pediatric cancer patients at Doctors Hospital on December 14th.
You can still drop a new, unwrapped toy off at the Bucks offices in the LEC in time for the delivery on December 14th. Call 718-BUCK (2825) for more information.
