Palmer Gets Call From Rockford IceHogs

NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, Texas (December 10)-The Texas Brahmas of the Central Hockey League (CHL) have announced the promotion of goaltender Joe Palmer to the Rockford IceHogs (AHL) Thursday following his 5-2 victory over Allen last night. The IceHogs are affiliated with the Chicago Blackhawks of the NHL.
Palmer, who is playing in his first professional season, attended training camp with the IceHogs early this fall. The rookie netminder currently holds the fourth best GAA in the league (2.54) and leads all rookies in the League's three star honors category with 15 points. Palmer has won his past two games and recorded his first career shutout in Laredo in November.
Brahmas Head Coach Dan Wildfong believes this is a great opportunity for his young goaltender.
"Joe has been playing solid lately and continues to improve. This is a great opportunity for him to go out and display his abilities in a different league", he said.

The Brahmas next home game is tomorrow night when they host the Arizona Sundogs on their annual "Teddy Bear Toss" night. Fans are encouraged to bring teddy bears to toss onto the ice after the Brahmas first goal; all stuffed animals will be collected and donated to the Community Enrichment Center of North Richland Hills. Also on hand during the game will be a special guest from the North Pole as Santa Claus pays a visit to NYTEX for Friday's game.
