Liske Nets First Career Goal as Tips Rout T-Birds 7-1

EVERETT, Wash. - The Everett Silvertips dismantled the Seattle Thunderbirds 7-1 in front of 7,219 fans at Angel of the Winds Arena on Saturday night to close out their 2023 home slate.

Teague Patton opened the scoring for Everett at 5:01, wiring a powerplay goal over the shoulder of Spencer Michnik. Sam Popowich answered at 7:01 for Seattle. Hayden Smith restored the Silvertips lead at 10:22, stripping Bryce Pickford of the puck and slipping a shot through Michnik for his fourth goal of the season and his third straight game with a tally. Carter Bear capped off a two-on-one at 11:09 for his 12th of the season, followed in short order by a Patton break-in at 13:19 for his second of the night.

Brek Liske cashed in his first career goal with a shot from the high slot at 17:19 for a 5-1 Everett lead after one.

Julius Miettinen redirected a powerplay goal at 14:36 for his 11th of the campaign. Ty Gibson snapped a 29-game goalless drought with his second of the season at 19:00 in the second, capping off the scoring in a 7-1 victory.

Tyler Palmer stopped 43 of 44 in the win, his 13th of the year. Brek Liske finished as a +5 defensively. Ben Hemmerling collected three assists.
