Lions Travel to Face Philadelphia Under Friday Night Lights

ORLANDO, Fla. - Orlando City SC (2-2-1, 7 points) will look to make it three wins in a row when it visits the Philadelphia Union (1-1-2, 5 points) on Friday, April 13. Kickoff is set for 8 p.m. ET at Talen Energy Stadium.

The match will be nationally televised on ESPN and transmitted locally on Real Radio 104.1 FM in English and La Nueva AM 990 in Spanish.

"Very, very dangerous team. A team that, if you look at the last two matches, they've played really positively and should've probably gotten - no doubt about it - should have gotten better results in those two matches," Lions head coach Jason Kreis said. "They were dominant in both those games, created a ton of goalscoring chances. They're a very dangerous team that's going to be out looking for a fight because they dropped a result at home last week so they're going to be looking to claw that back so we need to be very, very prepared for this one."

The Lions are coming off their first two-goal comeback victory in Club history. City scored three goals in a seven-minute span after the 80th minute - Chris Mueller's first professional goal got City on the board, Sacha Kljestan equalized from the penalty spot and Dom Dwyer scored the game-winner - to defeat the Portland Timbers 3-2. It was City's second consecutive come-from-behind victory, after the Lions erased two separate one-goal deficits to beat the New York Red Bulls on March 31.

Kljestan's goal was his first as a Lion and Dwyer's was the 98th of his professional career. RJ Allen, who entered the match in the 57th minute, earned the game-winning assist for his first as a Lion. Yoshimar Yotún earned his second assist of the season on Mueller's goal.

The Union are coming off a 1-1 home draw against San Jose. Alejandro Bedoya scored Philadelphia's first goal in 265 minutes of league play, dating to the season opener on March 3, to equalize in the 64th minute.

This is the first meeting of the season between the Lions and Union. The two teams split the 2017 season series, as the Lions took a 2-1 win at Orlando City Stadium on March 18 before the Union won the season finale 6-1 in Philadelphia.
