Orlando City SC News Release
ORLANDO, Fla. - Orlando City SC (2-3-5, 11 points) returns to Camping World Stadium to host the Eastern Conference foe Montreal Impact (4-3-4,16 points) on Saturday, May 21. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. E.T.
The first encounter between the Lions and the Impact in 2016 will be locally televised on WRDQ TV27, as well as transmitted on Real Radio 104.1 FM in English and on La Grande 1030 AM in Spanish.
"Obviously a huge game for us," City Head Coach Adrian Heath said. "We've been working on training really hard in the week and getting prepared. It's been a long time since we lost at home, so I'm confident going into these games. We're playing against an in-form team. It's a big game for us. There's no underestimating what the next two games are for us."
Orlando City aims to bounce back from Sunday's 2-1 loss at Sporting Kansas City as well as extend its 11-game unbeaten streak at home when hosting the Impact.
Montreal's only previous visit to the Soccer Capital of the South resulted in a thrilling 2-1 victory for the Lions on Oct. 3, 2015. Cyle Larin scored his 15th goal of the season before Seb Hines scored the game-winner in the 80th minute to secure the win, which was the fourth of their eventual five-game winning streak.
Larin and midfielder Kevin Molino look to continue their positive momentum from the first third of the 2016 campaign. The two lead the team with four goals and two assists each. Captain Kaká has two goals and two assists in five games this season.
Montreal has tied their last four matches, most recently a 1-1 draw against Philadelphia on Saturday, May 14, following ties against NYCFC, the Colorado Rapids and the Columbus Crew. Argentinian Ignacio Piatti leads the Impact with six goals, ahead of Dominic Oduro and Didier Drogba with four each.
The match marks the first of three games in the span of nine days for Orlando City. Just four days after the Montreal game, City hosts the Philadelphia Union on Wednesday, May 25, for a 7:30 p.m. E.T. kickoff. The Lions then head to New York City on Sunday, May 29.
