(Vancouver) The BC Lions Football Club announced this morning that import running backs Taylor Atwood, Nic Grigsby and Anthony Stewart have been signed by the team.

Atwood, whose pursuit of a roster spot included attending no less than three Lions free agent workouts this spring, wrapped up his collegiate career at Webber International in 2010. The diminutive back racked up 2,352 yards on 547 career carries for the NAIA school.

Grigsby joins the Leos following brief stints with both the Miami Dolphins and Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2011. The University of Arizona grad totaled 2,424 rushing yards and 20 touchdowns through 28 appearances for the Wildcats and also added 60 receptions for 319 yards.

Stewart spent the final two years of his college eligibility at Central Missouri where he recorded 1,950 rushing yards and another 1,597 through the air. The lofty numbers earned him an All-MIAA Conference selection as a senior in 2010.
