Clearwater Threshers News Release

The Clearwater Threshers put up six runs in the fourth inning on their way to a 7-4 win in the series opener at Jupiter on Thursday night.

Gabriel Lino knocked in a season-high four runs - including a bases-clearing double in the fourth - to lead the Threshers to victory.

Jupiter (35-66) got on the board first with a run off starter Miguel Nunez in the third inning.

Nunez (4-7) would permit just that lone run on only two hits in his six innings of work to earn the victory. The Threshers' righty has now won back-to-back starts, going six innings and surrendering one earned run or less in both of those outings.

The Threshers (31-70) busted out for six runs against Jupiter and starting pitcher Matt Milroy (0-5) in the fourth. It was Lino who highlighted the rally, ripping a bases-clearing double.

Lino would give the Threshers some extra cushion an inning later. His RBI single gave him four runs batted in on the evening, and boosted the Clearwater lead to 7-1.

Jupiter managed to climb back into the game by pushing across three runs off reliever Lino Martinez, but Ulises Joaquin got the final four outs to notch his second save in a Threshers' uniform.

In addition to Lino, J.P. Crawford and Everett Williams also finished with multi-hit performances, as both singled twice and scored once in the winning effort.

Clearwater will look to make it two straight over Jupiter with Aaron Nola (1-3) on the hill on Friday. First pitch is set for 6:35 p.m., and the call can be heard live beginning at 6:20 p.m. on the Threshers' broadcast network.
