JUPITER, Fla. -- Mark Leiter Jr. gave the Threshers seven innings of two-run ball, but Clearwater suffered a 3-2 loss in walk-off fashion to the Jupiter Hammerheads on Saturday night.

With runners at first and second and one out in the bottom of the ninth, Ryan Goetz singled to left and pinch runner Noah Perio beat the throw home from left fielder Everett Williams to give Jupiter the victory.

Fresh off a complete game shutout and Pitcher of the Week honors, Leiter turned in seven innings in the start for Clearwater (14-21).

The right-hander held the Hammerheads to four hits and a walk, while permitting two runs. Leiter has gone at least five innings in all five of his starts since joining the Threshers.

Jupiter (10-24) plated the game's first run in the bottom of the first, but Clearwater grabbed a brief lead in the fourth.

With one out, Brian Pointer worked a walk and Harold Martinez lined a single to right. Williams grounded a single through the right side to score Pointer with the tying run, and Gabriel Lino's double to left field brought Martinez home to give Clearwater a 2-1 lead.

Viosergy Rosa tied it in the bottom half. He led off the inning with his 12th home run of the season to knot the game up at two.

Cody Forsythe (1-2) worked his way around a lead-off single to toss a scoreless eighth, and struck out the first batter he faced in the final frame. Chad Wallach then hit a grounder to the hole at shortstop, where J.P. Crawford made a backhanded grab and fired a strike to first, but Wallach was ruled safe on the bang-bang play.

Jesus Solarzano then singled up the middle to put the winning run in scoring position. After Perio entered to pinch-run for Wallach, Goetz worked a full count and pushed a single to left to plate the walk-off tally.

Clearwater will try to earn a series split as the four-game set wraps up on Sunday at 1:05 p.m. The call can be heard live beginning at 12:50 p.m.
