
Lineup Powers Fightins to Win

Reading Fightin Phils News Release
The Fightin Phils (59-74) hit their way to a victory over the Erie Sea Wolves (64-68) as they won by a score of 8-5. Carlos Alonso hit his first Double-A grand slam of the season and Jake Fox hit his 21st home run to lead the Fightins.
Dixon Machado hit a solo home run off Hoby Milner with one out in the top of the 1st inning to give the SeaWolves a 1-0 lead. The Fightin Phils jumped ahead of the SeaWolves in the bottom of the 3rd inning off starter Ryan Robowski as Carlos Alonso hit a grand slam to give the Fightins a 4-1 lead.
KC Serna and Peter Lavin led off the inning with back-to-back singles. Albert Cartwright walked with one out that brought Alonso to the plate. Devon Travis hit a solo home run off Milner in the top of the 4th inning to cut the Fightins lead to 4-2. Erie took a 5-4 lead off Milner in the top of the 5th inning as Aaron Westlake hit a two-run home run and Craig Albernaz scored on an error committed by Albert Cartwright.
Hoby Milner allowed five runs (four earned) in six innings of work. He gave up five hits with two walks and four strikeouts. Jake Fox led off the bottom of the 6th with a solo home run to tie the game at 5-5 off reliever Guido Knudson. Aaron Altherr and Brock Stassi hit back-to-back singles then KC Serna with a RBI single to score Altherr and give the Fightins a 6-5 lead. Peter Lavin reached on a fielder's choice then Zach Collier brought him and Stassi home with a two-run double to give Reading an 8-5 lead.
Mike Nesseth tossed 1 1/3 scoreless innings in relief of Hoby Milner. He issued just one walk. Matt Hoffman closed the door on the SeaWolves as he pitched 1 2/3 innings to earn his second save of the season.
The Fightin Phils play their final home game of the season tomorrow afternoon at FirstEnergy Stadium at 1:35 pm. Philadelphia Phillies 2014 First-Round Draft Pick Aaron Nola (1-0, 3.86 ERA) will be making the start for the Fightin Phils.
