Lincoln Run Sinks Storm, 3-2

Lincoln, Neb. - The Tri-City Storm allowed a pair of third-period power-play goals to the Lincoln Stars and fell, 3-2, Friday at the Ice Box.

After Storm forward Garrett Hall was assessed a five-minute major for boarding and a game misconduct, Lincoln's Christian Evers scored on the man up to tie the game at two. Nine minutes into the third on a five-on-three, Collin Peters scored the game-winning goal. The Stars were 2-for-5 on the man up.

Wyatt Bongiovanni (11th of the season) and Adam Goodsir (15) scored the Storm's two goals. Tri-City led, 2-1, before Lincoln's goal run.

Eric Dop made 29 saves in defeat. Josef Korenar denied a pair of Storm shots in the final minute while Tri-City was on the power play. The netminder denied 25 Storm shots.

The Storm hosts Sioux Falls on Saturday, March 25 for Casino Night at 7:05 p.m.

Dop recorded 14 saves in the first period and allowed the opening goal to Chayse Primeau 9:32 left in the first. Both power plays went 0-for-1 in the first.

A scrum at the side of the Lincoln net resulted in the tying goal. Logan Drevitch dug for it at the left post and the puck bopped to Bongiovanni on the backhand. The Storm forward skied it to the back of the cage to even the scored with 3:34 left in the second. Rookie Wyllum Deveaux garnered the second assist.

Bongiovanni is second on the team with 28 points. Against Lincoln, the 17-year-old recorded one goal and five points in the series.

Tri-City scored the go-ahead goal, 2-1, at 5:14 of the third; Goodsir found a loose puck in the crease and jammed it in after Chase Pilawski's point shot snuck through Korenar.

Less than a minute later, Hall received the five-minute major and game misconduct, allowing the Lincoln man up to go to work. The Stars scored a pair of goals three minutes apart.

The Storm was 0-for-3 on the man up.

Saturday at 7:05 p.m. against Sioux Falls is "Casino Night", presented by Midway Auto Dealerships. The Storm will have 25 concourse games and prizes from local sponsors. During intermission, fans can sign up for a chance to shoot and win a 2016 Jeep Renegade from Midway.

On Friday, March 31, Tri-City presents "Dash 4 Cash", presented by NebraskaLand National Bank, and begins its final home set against Chicago. During intermissions, fans and schools will try to grab as much "cash" as they can in an allotted time frame. Schools will compete for $1,000 during one break and fans will grab up to $250 in the next intermission. It's also a $5 Kids Friday and all players will be available after the game for autographs.

The Storm honors the best fans in the USHL on "Fan Appreciation Night", presented by the Nebraska Lottery, against the Steel on Saturday, March 31 at 7:05 p.m. There will be a special postgame skate.
