Lincecum Named PCL Pitcher of the Week

April 16, 2007 - Pacific Coast League (PCL1)
Fresno Grizzlies News Release

Fresno, CA- Grizzlies starting pitcher Tim Lincecum took home the Pacific Coast League's first award of 2007 for his outstanding performance over the course of the season's opening week. Lincecum was a perfect 2-0 in his first two Triple-A outings. He did not allow a single run over 12 innings pitched in picking up the League's Pitcher of the Week Award.

Lincecum, a former University of Washington standout, has adjusted quite well to the professional landscape as the 10th overall pick (San Francisco Giants' 1st Round Pick) in the 2006 draft won his first two decisions at the Triple-A level to remain undefeated in his professional career. He threw 12 scoreless innings and struck out 17 batters in dominating performances against the Portland Beavers and Tacoma Rainiers on April 7th and 12th. The Bellevue, Washington native has held opposing batters to a miniscule .146 average while only allowing just six hits so far this season.

The 22 year old flame thrower is scheduled to make his third start of the season tomorrow night on the road against Tacoma. A live broadcast of the game can be heard live on 1550 AM Sporting News Radio or by logging onto www.fresnogrizzlies.com.

The Grizzlies return home on Saturday, April 21 to open an eight game homestand that includes the first visits of the year from Tucson and Colorado Springs. Tickets for all Grizzlies home games are on sale now and can be purchased by calling (559) 320-TIXS, by visiting www.fresnogrizzlies.com, or by visiting the Chukchansi Park ticket office.
