The New Orleans Zephyrs defeated the Nashville Sounds on Monday by a score of 10-2, avoiding the four-game sweep to finish 1-3 in the series.
Catcher Mike DiFelice led the way offensively with three RBI on a 3-4 night.
Center fielder Carlos Gomez continues with a hit in every game this year after going 3-3 and scoring a run for New Orleans.
Starting pitcher Philip Humber (2-1) gets the win after allowing one run on five hits in six innings of play. Reliever Steve Schmoll picked up his first save of the year, giving up a run on three hits in three innings.
Nashville starting pitcher R.A. Dickey (0-2) records the loss. Dickey gave up 10 runs on 11 hits in five innings.
The Zephyrs continue their eight-game homestand on Tuesday, beginning their four-game series against the Memphis Redbirds. It will be a homecoming for Memphis manager Chris Maloney, who managed the Zephyrs from 2002-2004, and Rick Eckstein, who was the hitting coach in 2006.
