
Lien, Toussaint Earn Weekly Honors

PEARL, MS - The Mississippi Braves have announced their Farm Bureau Player & Pitcher of the Week for the week ending Sunday, June 10. Mississippi Braves center fielder, Connor Lien and right-handed pitcher, Touki Toussaint have been selected for the weekly awards.
Lien, the 24-year old center fielder, was selected as the MS Farm Bureau Player of the Week after batting .250 (6-for-24) with five runs scored, 15 total bases, one double, one triple, two home runs, six runs batted in and four walks. Lien also posted a .357 on-base percentage, a .625 slugging percentage and a .982 on-base plus slugging percentage. In 52 games played with the Mississippi Braves in 2018, Lien has tallied 14 runs scored, 10 doubles, three home runs, 15 runs batted in, 47 total bases, 9 walks, and three stolen bases. The Orlando, Florida native was selected by the Atlanta Braves in the 12 th round of the 2012 First-Year Player Draft out of Olympia High School (Orlando, Florida.)
Toussaint, the 21-year old right-handed pitcher who is currently rated as the No. 11 overall prospect in the Atlanta Braves organization according to MLB Pipeline, ended the week with a 1-1 record and a 0.77 ERA. Over the course of two starts on the week, Toussaint allowed eight hits, four runs, one earned run, issued five walks and struck out 10 in 11.2 innings pitched accompanied by a .178 BAA and a 1.11 WHIP. Toussaint is currently ranked the 10th best pitcher in all of the Southern League and leads the Southern League in strikeouts (82) and is tied with nine others as the league leader in games started (13.) The right-hander is tied with Montgomery's Genesis Cabrera for the fourth best average of any Southern League pitcher with a .213 AVG. A native of Coral Springs, Florida Toussaint was originally selected by the Arizona Diamondbacks in the first round (16th overall) in the 2014 Draft out of Coral Springs Christian Academy (Coral Springs, Florida). Toussaint was acquired by the Atlanta Braves along with RHP Bronson Arroyo from the Arizona Diamondbacks in exchange for INF Phil Gosselin on June 20, 2015.
The Mississippi Braves are the Double-A affiliate of the Atlanta Braves. Since the inaugural 2005 season, over 125 M-Braves have gone on to Major League Baseball.
