
Jumbo Shrimp Will Host June 17 Father's Day Cookout

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Families on the First Coast can celebrate Father's Day with Affordable Family Fun at the Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville June 17, when the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp host an all-you-can-eat picnic and pregame catch on the field for the 3:05 p.m. Baptist Health Sunday Family FUNday game with the Jackson Generals.
Individuals and families may now log onto tinyurl.com/jaxshrimpportal (enter password "FATHER") to purchase Father's Day Cookout packages that include reserved seats and the all-you-can-eat buffet in the third-base side Shrimp Deck from 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, June 17. Tickets can be ordered through Friday, June 15.
The special cookout menu includes "grill your own steak", plus all-you-can-eat hamburgers, hot dogs, pulled barbecue chicken, cole slaw, beans, cookies, tea, lemonade and water. Reservation space is limited. Packages are $20 per person and include access to the all-you-can-eat cookout buffet and a reserved seat for the Jumbo Shrimp's 3:05 p.m. game. Children ages 3 and under who do not require a seat do not need a ticket.
As part of another Baptist Health Sunday Family FUNday, kids and their families can play catch on the field when gates open at 2 p.m. Free face painting, balloon animals, and kids crafts activities will be available in the Wolfson Children's Hospital Kids Zone. Doc McStuffins will roam the ballpark, greeting fans. Following the game, kids 12 and under can run the bases. The game is also presented by Easy 102.9 and is Great Clips Day.
The Father's Day celebration at the ballpark will also include Everybody Gets Lucky On Father's Day, when the Jumbo Shrimp will distribute 4,000 fortune cookies during the fourth inning to attempt to break the world record for the most fortune cookies eaten simultaneously. Plus, 50 of the fortune cookies will contain special prizes for lucky fans.
UP NEXT: The Jumbo Shrimp continue their series with Biloxi at 7:05 p.m. Monday, when Jacksonville right-hander Kolton Mahoney (3-3) is scheduled to face Shuckers left-hander Kodi Medeiros (4-3). Gates open at 6 p.m. for VyStar Credit Union Charity Begins at Home with Duval Charter Schools, which will raise funds through ticket sales and the Launch-A-Ball promotion. VyStar Credit Union members can get a buy-3-get-1 free ticket special by showing their VyStar credit or debit card at the box office. For Canines and Crustaceans, Bark in the Park presented by Standard Feed and Seed, dogs are welcome at the ballpark, free of charge with a paying human companion. Dog-free seating will be available in Sections 110 and 111. Half-Price Yuengling Monday means 16-oz. Yuengling cans are half-price.
