THE MATCH-UP

New York begins its seventh post-season venture on Tuesday ... The third seeded Liberty will host Indiana, the number two seed ... The game is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at Madison Square Garden ... The two teams finished the regular season against each other on Saturday, with the Fever defeating the Liberty, 75-50 ... New York ended the 2005 regular season with an 18-16 record (.529).

LIBERTY VS. FEVER

The Liberty is just above the .500 mark all-time against the Fever ... New York has claimed 11 of the 21 games the two teams have played since Indiana entered the league in 2000 ... The teams played four times during the regular season ... Indiana took the season series, 3-1.

TEAM NOTES

BEEN THERE, DONE THAT

2005 marks the seventh time in the nine year history of the WNBA that the Liberty will be in the playoffs ... Only Houston has made more post-season appearances than the Liberty, as this will be the eighth time in the playoffs for the Comets ... Just like the Liberty, this will be the seventh time in the playoffs for Los Angeles as well ... The Liberty and Comets have made it to the WNBA Finals more than any other teams ... New York and Houston have both advanced to the Championship series on four occasions ... Three of those times the teams played each other.

SO-SO

The Liberty has split its post-season games ... The team has a .500 record overall in the WNBA Playoffs ... New York is 17-17 in its post-season history.

FIRST THINGS FIRST

The Liberty should feel comfortable heading into the First Round of the playoffs ... The team has dominated the six first round match-ups it has played ... New York is 11-4 all-time in the opening round of post-season play and has won every first round series it has played.

DÉJÀ VU

You might have to check the calendar to make sure you're looking at the right year ... New York will play the Indian Fever in the opening round of this year's playoffs, which is a repeat of the 2002 post-season ... The Liberty prevailed over the Fever, two games to one, in the 2002 Eastern Conference Semi-Finals ... Indiana took the first game on its own home court, 73-55, before New York picked up the next two at The Garden, 84-65 and 75-60 ... The Liberty hopes for a repeat performance this time around.

LET'S SEE MOORE OF THAT

Liberty rookie Loree Moore had a career game against the Fever when the two teams closed out the regular season on Saturday ... She played 31 minutes, shot 2-4 from the field, grabbed four rebounds, dished out three assists and scored four points ... Her two buckets, one three-point attempt, three helpers and four points all tied career highs ... Her minutes, attempted shots and rebounds are new personal bests.

THEM TOO

Erin Thorn and Cathrine Kraayeveld had record games under the boards on Saturday ... Thorn's two defensive and three total rebounds both tied her personal bests ... Kraayeveld grabbed five boards against the Fever, including three on the defensive end ... Those are both new career highs for the rookie.
