The IronPigs (42-44) play the finale of a two-game series at Frontier Field against the second-place Rochester Red Wings (50-38) -- owners of the 2nd best record in the IL... With a 12-6 loss last night, the Pigs spanned their three-game winning streak and have started 0-1 on this season-long, 10-game road trip. Lehigh Valley has now dropped eight of its last 12 contests and, since May 30, has gone just 13-20, falling from second place and 0.5 GB in the North to fifth place and 9.0 GB... Rochester -- Minnesota's top affiliate -- has now won six consecutive affairs and has set a new season's high-water mark of 12 games above .500. This comes after the Red Wings went just 11-13 during a span from June 5-28. The streaky Wings have had winning steaks as long as seven (May 13-19) and six twice (April 8-12) and losing streaks as long as eight (May 5-12) and four (April 13-17).
RHP Sean O'Sullivan (3-6, 4.31) will start for LHV against LHP Scott Diamond (4-7, 6.56).
First-Pitch is at 7:05 p.m.
The Pigs next bus through the night to start a four-game series at Indianapolis (48-40) tomorrow at 6:05 p.m. The Indians are just 2-8 after a high-water mark 46-32 on June 24.
