(Uptown Charlotte, NC) - Before the official 7:05 p.m. first pitch of Saturday's game, the Charlotte Knights welcomed their 429,133rd fan through the gates of BB&T Ballpark -- breaking their all-time attendance record of 429,132 fans in a season, which was set in 1993 while playing at Knights Stadium in Fort Mill, SC. Carolyn Kellogg of Charlotte was the lucky fan and she was greeted by Knights employees at the main gates. Carolyn was then ushered down to the field with her three family members, Will Kellogg, Kaelyn Kellogg, and Crystle Quintana, where they were recognized by the Knights before the game. Her son Will, 4, threw out a ceremonial first pitch.

"This is a tremendous and historic day for Charlotte professional baseball and the Knights organization," said Dan Rajkowski, Chief Operating Officer of the Charlotte Knights. "The greater Charlotte community has really taken hold of our Knights at new BB&T Ballpark. To surpass the all-time attendance record of 429,132 fans in only 45 games is a testament to the vision and dreams of so many people. Our staff and team will continue to provide a great form of family entertainment for our fans so we may meet more milestones and goals."

Overall on Saturday, the Knights welcomed 10,219 fans through the gates for the team's 22nd sell-out of the season. The Knights lead Minor League Baseball in overall attendance with 432,448 fans and are currently averaging a Minor League best 9,610 fans per game this season through 45 home games.

For becoming the 429,133rd fan through the gates, Carolyn received a prize pack featuring a team signed baseball, a Knights jersey, a hat, and four tickets to the Gildan Triple-A National Championship Game on Tuesday, September 16.
