Cedar Rapids Kernels News Release
The Cedar Rapids Kernels and Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim announce that LHP Will Smith has been placed on the 7-day disabled list, retroactive to April 20, with a left hamstring strain. Abe Flores, Director of Player Development for the LA Angels, announced the move on Monday.
Smith was lifted after facing just two batters in Saturday's 15-2 loss at Kane County. He has pitched in two games this season, with no record and a 3.00 ERA in 6 IP.
No replacement for the open roster spot has been named. With today's transactions, the Kernels roster is at 24 active players with one player currently listed on the disabled list.
The Kernels open a four game series today against the Clinton LumberKings at Perfect Game Field at Veterans Memorial Stadium. Tickets may be purchased on-line at www.kernels.com The opinions expressed in this release are those of the organization issuing it, and do not necessarily reflect the thoughts or opinions of OurSports Central or its staff.
