Leonardo Campana Named to MLS Team of the Matchday

Inter Miami CF Forward Leonardo Campana has been named in the Team of the Matchday for Matchday 32 of the MLS 2023 regular season. The striker earned Team of the Matchday honors following his stellar performance in Inter Miami's on the road against Atlanta United at Mercedes-Benz Stadium this past Saturday.

Campana secured his place in the Team of the Matchday bench after registering a brace, his third this 2023 MLS regular season and second in consecutive matches, over the weekend against Atlanta United. This Team of the Matchday selection marks the Ecuadorians striker's fourth this regular season. Campana's first goal of the night came after a long-range attempt from midfielder Dixion Arroyo bounced off the crossbar and back into play inside the box, where Campana brought the ball down with his chest and skillfully lifted it over a defender before smashing the ball into the back of the net. The goal marked Campana's eighth this regular season.

In the 52nd minute, the striker secured his second goal of the night with a left-footed shot to convert from the spot. The goal was Campana's ninth this regular season, while it also was his 20th overall MLS regular season goal, with which he made history by becoming the second Inter Miami player to reach 20 MLS regular season goals.
