Frisco, TX - The Texas Legends used huge night's from Joe Alexander and Sean Williams to get their second win in as many nights over the Rio Grande Valley Vipers, earning a 112-108 victory on Monday night at HP Court inside Dr Pepper Arena.

The Legends used a 14-2 run early in the opening quarter to give them their largest lead of the game at 14, but the lead would not last long. Down 21-7, the Vipers went on a 17-3 spurt of their own to take a 24-23 lead in the second quarter.

Neither team was able to take complete control until midway through the fourth quarter, when the Vipers used strong defense and a few big three-pointers to go on top by four with just over one minute left in the game.

Down 101-97 with just 20 seconds left in the fourth quarter, Alexander hit a fall-away jumper to cut the deficit to two. Then, on the inbound pass from Garrett Temple, Booker Woodfox jumped in the passing lane, got the seal and ran down court for an easy lay-up tying the game at 101.

With a chance to win the game, a Mustafa Shakur three-pointer at the buzzer rimmed out, sending the Legends to their first overtime period in franchise history.

Texas would score their first three points in overtime all off free throws, before Woodfox came up big again, nailing a three-ball and clinching the victory for the Legends.

The Legends had four 20-point scorers in the win, including Alexander, Williams, Dominique Jones and Justin Dentmon.

Alexander had a season-high and Legends single-game record 31 points to top his previous season-high of 25, which he set just last night in the win at Rio Grande Valley. He also had a season-high 15 rebounds for Texas.

Williams was a dominant presence down low for the Legends with 22 points and a Legends single-game record 22 rebounds. Jones contributed 24 points and Dentmon added 22.

Garrett Temple led the way for the Vipers with 27 points, as Mustafa Shakur poured in 24 points in the loss.

The Legends improved to 4-1 at home and 8-5 overall with the victory, while the Vipers fell to 7-7 on the year.

The Legends will continue a five-game home stand with a New Years Day game against the Tulsa 66ers, with tip-off set for 7:00 p.m..
