
Atlanta Hawks Assign Pape Sy to NBA Development League Affiliate Utah Flash

NEW YORK, Dec. 27, 2010 - Atlanta Hawks guard/forward Pape Sy was assigned to the Utah Flash, the Hawks' NBA Development League affiliate, it was announced today. The assignment marks the 20th time in the 2010-11 season an NBA player has been assigned to an NBA D-League affiliate, and it is the first assignment for Sy, a rookie out of France.
Sy (6-7, 225) has yet to appear this season for Atlanta. He played two games for the Hawks in the 2010 NBA Summer League in Las Vegas, averaging 4.5 points, 1.0 rebounds and 1.0 assists.
The Hawks selected Sy in the second round (53rd overall) of the 2010 NBA Draft. He appeared in 38 games over three seasons with STB Le Havre in France's Pro A League. Sy put in his best performance against the Poitiers on Feb. 27, 2010, when he recorded a season-high 17 points.
