Legends score 2 in eighth, beat Hagerstown 8-6 Grant Hogue slid home with the tie-breaking run after Jake Goebbert's sacrifice fly in the bottom of the eighth inning, and the Lexington Legends went on to an 8-6 win over the Hagerstown Suns Thursday night at Applebee's Park.

With the score tied at 6-6, Hogue was hit by a pitch leading off the eighth and stole second. Jimmy Paredes walked, and Jiovanni Mier sacrificed the runners to second and third. After Josh Smoker relieved Luis Garcia on the mound for Hagerstown, Goebbert hit a fly ball into short right center field. Center fielder Eury Perez made the catch, and Hogue slid in headfirst just ahead of the tag to give the Legends the lead.

After Kody Hinze was intentionally walked, the Legends picked up an insurance run when Jonathan Meyer singled to score Paredes, giving Lexington its final margin.

Paredes and Goebbert hit solo homers for Lexington in the third inning.
