Lexington Legends News Release
Ebert Rosario hit two home runs and drove in five runs as the Lexington Legends beat the Augusta Greenjackets 15-6 Sunday afternoon in Augusta. Kody Hinze had a homer and four RBI and Brandon Barnes homered and drove in three runs. Starting pitcher Ross Seaton picked up his fourth victory of the year against one loss. Seaton went six innings and allowed five hits and one unearned run.
The Legends took a 1-0 lead in the first inning when Nathan Metroka walked, stole second and came around to score on a single by Brandon Barnes. In the second, Phil Disher reached on an error by third baseman Charlie Culberson, and Hinze followed with a home run to left field to make it 3-0. Barnes hit a two-run homer in the third to increase the lead to 5-0.
Augusta scored one run in the bottom of the third and had the bases loaded with one out when Josh Mazzola hit a soft liner up the middle. Second baseman Albert Cartwright made a diving catch for the second out, and Seaton retired C.J. Ziegler on a pop foul to third.
The Legends wrapped it up with a seven-run outburst in the top of the seventh. They sent 12 batters to the plate and had five hits, including Rosario's three-run homer, a two-run single by Hinze, and an RBI double by Metroka.
Seaton is now 4-1, and his ERA of 0.91 is third in the South Atlantic League behind Casey Kelly of Greenville (0.70) and Lexington's Kyle Greenwalt (0.78). Augusta starter Aaron King (1-1) was the losing pitcher.
Lexington remains in Augusta to take on the Greenjackets Monday night at 7:05 p.m
