Legends Rally in 9th for 8-7 Win

(ASHEVILLE, N.C.) Down by two runs with two outs in the ninth inning, the Lexington Legends rallied to score four runs and then held on for an 8-7 win over the Asheville Tourists Sunday afternoon.

Kenny Diekroeger's two-out, two-run double on an 0-2 pitch tied the game, and Frank Schwindel and Maurcio Ramos followed with run-scoring hits to give the Legends an 8-6 lead.

Asheville's Michael Benjamin, who had four hits in the game, hit a solo homer with two outs in the bottom of the ninth to leave the score at 8-7.

The victory ended the Legends' losing streak at five games. The Legends open a series in Hickory Monday night. Game time is 7 p.m.
