Legends Rally from Eight Down in Eighth, Win 14-12 in 11.

Down 12-4 in the top of the eighth, the Lexington Legends rallied to beat the Greenville Drive 14-12 in Greenville Friday night.

Lexington scored three in the eighth to pull within five, and then sent nine men to the plate in the tenth, scoring five times to tie the game at 12. Andy Simunic walked to lead off. Albert Cartwright was hit by a pitch and Michael Diaz singled to load the bases. Brian Pellegrini walked to force in a run, and Steve Brown followed with a single to socre Cartwright to make the score 12-9. With the bases still loaded, Eric Suttle singled, scoring Diaz to cut the lead to two. Jeff Hulett, who had five RBI in the game, hit a sacrifice fly to bring Pellegrini home and leave the lead at one.

Brandon Wikoff, pinch hitting for reserve catcher Wilder Parra, then singled, scoring Brown with the tying run.

With two outs and the bases empty in the 11th, Wikoff, who remained in the game to play shortstop, singled. Chris Jackson followed with a line single to right center, and Wikoff was waved home, catching the defense off guard as he scored without a play at the plate.

Brian Wabick (6-1) got the win in relief. Felix Ventura (2-5) took the loss. Hulett caught the last three innings after starting catcher Reinaldo Pestana and Parra had both been removed. Regular catcher Federico Hernandez is out due to a wrist injury.

The :Legends return home to the meet the Asheville Tourists Saturday night at 7:05 p.m.
