Legends Pick up Three from Dallas Mavericks

Frisco, TX DEC. 21, 2011 - The Texas Legends picked up some depth this afternoon when the Dallas Mavericks assigned guards Drew Neitzel and Jerome Randle, along with last year's All-NBA D-League selection Sean Williams to the team in Frisco.

Jerome Randle, a 5-10 guard from California University, earned Pac-10 player of the year honors and AP All-American honorable mention in his senior year. Randle blossomed in his final season averaging 18.6 points, 4.3 assists, and connected on 93.3% of his free throws. In his two preseason games with the Dallas Mavericks Randle averaged 11 points.

Drew Neitzel, a standout at Michigan State, went undrafted in 2008 as a 6-0 guard. After playing professionally in Germany, the former Michigan "Mr. Basketball" award winner joined the Dallas Mavericks training camp. Neitzel earned second-team All-American honors in 2008.

A former Legends star, Sean Williams, will rejoin the team that he helped lead to the playoffs as an All-NBA D-League selection in 2010-11. Williams was a defensive force blocking 3.1 shots, grabbing 10.1 rebounds, and contributing 15.4 points per game during his time with the Legends. Williams is also known as a high school basketball star in the Dallas area, earning multiple honors at Mansfield High. Williams was the 17th overall pick by the New Jersey Nets in 2007.

The additions come at a perfect time for Texas (2-8) who plays the conference leading Los Angeles D-Fenders twice in the next three days.
