Bighorns Bash Stampede

RENO, Nevada, December 21, 2011 - New Stampeder David Bailey scored 17 points, but the Idaho Stampede (4-6) lost to the Reno Bighorns 115-95 at the Reno Events Center. Bailey formerly played for the Stampede in 2003-04, winning the Rookie of the Year while the club was still in the CBA.

Seven players finished in double-figures for the Bighorns (4-5), who outscored the Stampede 30-15 in the first quarter and 41-22 in the final period. Reno shot 61.1 percent in the fourth quarter and made 16-of-21 free throws. The 41 fourth quarter points were the most allowed in the final quarter by the Stampede so far this season.

Idaho made just 4-of-23 three-pointers and committed 17 turnovers to only 19 assists as the team lost its second straight game after winning three in a row. Tony Bobbitt had 16 points and a team-high seven assists, while Eric Devendorf was the third Idaho player to finish with double-figure points with 12. Reggie Larry had his third consecutive game of 10 or more rebounds, finishing with 12 rebounds to go along with nine points.

Blake Ahearn led Reno in scoring with 23 points and nine assists. Terrance Thomas had 11 points and 10 rebounds and Cedric Bozeman had 16 points, six assists and six rebounds.

The Stampede play in Reno again on Friday night at 8 p.m.
