
Legends lose pair, welcome back Jon Helquist

LEXINGTON, Ky. â The Houston Astros announced the promotion of Legends second baseman, Brooks Conrad and pitcher, Chris Sampson to Class A Salem, of the Carolina League.
Conrad batted .186, belted 3 home runs and collected 11 RBI in 38 games for Lexington. Conrad was named by the Lexington coaching staff as April's Defensive Player of the Month. Sampson was solid out of the bullpen for the Legends. In seven games, Sampson posted an ERA of 4.70 without a decision.
Former Legends second baseman, Jon Helquist and pitcher, Juan De Leon filled complete the new Lexington roster. Helquist played 28 games for Salem, while compiling a .183 average, 2 home runs and 11 RBI. De Leon arrives from extended spring training. De Leon, known in 2002 as Manuel Flores, pitched in 15 games for Tri-City. De Leon was 3 and 2 with a save and an ERA of 2.59.
The Legends are in the middle of an eight game home stand. Lexington hosts Augusta on Tuesday night. First pitch is set for 7:05. For more information about tickets, call 859-422-RUNS.
