
Intimidators Claw Crawdads to Halt Six-Game Skid

(Kannapolis, NC) â Former Clemson Tiger pitcher B.J. LaMura gave the Intimidators seven strong innings leading Kannapolis (18-20) to Tuesday night's 6-1 win over the Crawdads. The victory snapped the Intimidators six game losing streak.
LaMura (4-2) gave up an unearned run on five hits, walking one and striking out four for his fourth win in a Kannapolis uniform.
Julio Reyes, 1-3 R 2RBI 2BB, broke the scoreless tie in the third inning with a single to right field off Hickory starter Nick Gravelle (2-1) scoring Fort Mill native Charlie Lisk and Anthony Webster and putting Kannapolis ahead 2-0. Darren Ciraco, 3-5 3RBI R, followed with an RBI single scoring Andy Gonzalez giving the Intimidators a 3-0 lead.
Gravelle took the loss for the Crawdads (26-11) pitching four innings and surrendering three runs on six hits while walking three and striking out two.
Chris Bass scored the Crawdads only run in the seventh inning on a sacrifice fly by Bobby Kingsbury cutting the Intimidators lead 3-1. Kannapolis added three runs in the ninth off Henry Owens who gave up his first runs of the season.
The Intimidators bullpen provided solid relief. Julio Castro tossed a perfect eighth inning retiring all three batters he faced and struck out two. Rick Hummel shut down the side in order preserving the win for Kannapolis.
