Lexington pitchers Cody Reed, Jake Junis and Tim Hill teamed up for a two-hitter, and Frank Schwindel's two-run double provided the offense as the Legends took a 2-1 win over the West Virginia Power Thursday night in front of 4,017 fans at Whitaker Bank Ballpark.

JaCoby Jones put the Power in front in the top of the first with his 21st home run of the season. He is second in the South Atlantic League in homers behind Hickory's Travis Demeritte, who has 24.

The score remained 1-0 until the bottom of the sixth. Dominique Taylor led off with a single and moved to third on a hit-and-run single by Kenny Diekroeger. Diekroeger took second on the throw to third from right field, and both runners scored on Schwindel's double down the left field line.

Junis (9-7) got the win after allowing one hit in five scoreless innings. He entered the game at the start of the fourth inning and struck out six batters and walked none. Reed worked the first three innings in his second start since coming off the disabled list due to soreness in his left shoulder. The homer by Jones was the only hit allowed by Reed.

Hill picked up his fifth save by retiring the Power in order in the ninth with two strikeouts.

West Virginia reliever Isaac Sanchez (3-4), who replaced starter Buddy Borden at the start of the sixth inning, took the loss.

The Legends and Power will play again Friday night. Game time is 7:05 p.m.
