The Legends jumped out in front with three runs in the first inning. With one out, back-to-back doubles by Jiovanni Mier and Adam Bailey produced the first run of the game. Chris Wallace was hit by a pitch, and Mike Kvasnicka singled to score Bailey as Wallace moved to third. Daniel Adamson's sacrifice fly to right brought in Wallace with the third run.

Augusta's Devin Harris hit a solo home run in the top of the second inning to cut the Legends' lead to two at 3-1.

The Legends added two more in the bottom of the third. Mier led off with a double and Bailey walked. Wallace struck out, but Kvasnicka singled, scoring Mier and sending Bailey to third, from where he scored on Adamson's single.

In the top of the fourth, Josh Mazzola led off with a single and former University of Louisville star Adam Duvall followed with his fourth home run of the year to make the score 5-3. The two-run lead held up for the Legends until the ninth. Rafael Rodriguez led off with a double, and Ydwin Villegas singled him to third. Legends reliever Jorge DeLeon struck out Carlos Willoughby and retired Raynor Campbell on a foul pop-up to first baseman Tyler Burnett, but Ryan Scoma doubled down the right field line, sending Villegas to third. Mazzola hit a high bouncer to the shortstop, Mier, who threw to first for the game's final out.

Legends' starter Tanner Bushue (4-0) pitched the first five innings to get the win. DeLeon worked the eighth and ninth to earn his second save. Jason Chowning also pitched two scoreless innings for the Legends, and has not given up a run in 2011 through six appearances covering nine and two-thirds innings.

Augusta starter Justin Schumer (2-2) was the losing pitcher. The series is even at one win each, and continues with a 7:05 p.m. game Monday night at Whitaker Bank Ballpark.
